Arc is created by the same folks who are responsible for Canvas LMS, so Arc integrates by design. I really liked the level of interactivity this tool afforded. Students are encouraged to react to the video and can comment and ask questions within the video that the teacher can respond to. It also supports analytic features that allow the instructor to track students level of interaction with the video.
A similar video tool by TechSmith is called Relay. It’s not as visually appealing as Arc, but does offer built-in quiz capabilities. The analytic capabilities are more robust as well. I couldn’t get a sense of how Relay would integrate with Canvas. The demo video showed Relay’s capabilities ranged from traditional video to screen capture tutorials with integrated testing capabilities.
